FUSED GLASS

Tim and Jason had already been together for over 15 years when they started a new adventure together.  They had long been fans and collectors of bright and colourful fused glass pieces, and Studio Glass of Maitland, Nova Scotia, was a favourite spot.

In 2014, the owners decided it was time to retire, and Tim and Jason--with no previous experience working with glass--purchased the business. After months of training with the previous owner, they jumped in head-first and moved the business to their home.  Production began in their newly built workshop on a very cold day in January, 2015. They immediately fell in love with their new work, which soon occupied them both full-time. They have worked continuously to add their own flair to the business and find new ways to turn shiny bits of hand-cut glass into fun fused glass art for everyone to enjoy.

In 2018, they expanded the business to include a giftshop, glass studio, and public art space at 53 Main Street in their hometown of Hantsport, Nova Scotia. Days are spent making and firing their unique hand-cut glass art for giftshops across North America, or welcoming visitors to their shop to create glass art of their own. They've discovered that one of the best parts of working with fused glass has been seeing the incredible artwork the public creates in their shop.
